McDaniel: Employee of the Month

MACOMB, IL – Debbie McDaniel, an office support associate in the department of information systems and decision sciences at Western Illinois University, has been named the WIU May Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to her nominators, McDaniel "makes the day much livelier and cheerful."

"The manner in which she handles herself is a testament to her professionalism and integrity. Debbie is very personable, and really is the face of our department," her nominators added.

McDaniel began working at Western in August 1983 as a secretary II in the Office of Financial Aid. In November 1984 she was promoted to secretary III in Human Resources, and in 1985, she transferred to information systems and decision sciences. McDaniel was reclassified to secretary IV in July 2001, and in April 2010, her title was changed to office support specialist.

"Debbie is to be commended for her work ethic and for being such a positive representative of her department and the University," said Tishly Herrington, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative.
