MACOMB, IL -- Kerry Lemaster, an administrative assistant I in the Western Illinois University Office of the President, has been named the WIU August Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to her nominators, "Kerry shows enthusiasm and outstanding performance in the work she does in the President's Office and for the Board of Trustees. She works with all constituents across the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses, and interacts with many significant officials from off-campus.

"Kerry spends inordinate amounts of time in the office due to the responsibilities delegated to that office. She represents the president, and therefore, the University. In many ways, she establishes the image of Western Illinois University," her nominators added. "She is always positive and caring and clearly sends the message that Western cares about individuals."

Lemaster began her career at Western in May 2000 as the assistant to the dean of extended and continuing education. She was hired to her current position in July 2005.

"The dedication and commitment Kerry gives to her job, and to this University, are to be much-admired," said Wendi Mattson, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative. "We applaud Kerry for a job well-done."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Mattson at WK-Mattson@wiu.edu.
