Brassfest with Guests St. Louis Brass at Western Illinois University January 22

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University School of Music presents the 13th Annual Brassfest, featuring the St. Louis Brass, from 1-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Founded in 1964, St. Louis Brass is one of the longest standing brass quintets in America. Members include: Allan Dean, trumpet; Ray Sasaki, trumpet; Thomas Bacon, horn; founder Melvyn Jernigan, trombone; and Daniel Perantoni, tuba. These muscians, along with Western's faculty brass quintet, will conduct clinics, workshops and performances.

Advanced registration by Jan. 20 is $35 per person. Onsite registration Sunday, Jan. 22 at the COFAC Recital Hall is $40 per person. Payment covers clinics, a dinner buffet and the evening concert.

The St. Louis Brass will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall. Individuals who wish to attend only this concert can purchase tickets - $10 and $15 - online at wiu.edu/BCA, click on "Get Tickets," or at the door. WIU students with an ID, faculty and staff will be admitted free.
