MACOMB, IL - The Missouri Association of College Admission Counseling (MOACAC) recently awarded Western Illinois University Regional Admissions Counselor Jamie Staggs the President's Service Recognition Award.

The award was created in 2005 to recognize MOACAC members with more than five years of service, who have provided strong and consistent leadership.

"Jamie is a very enthusiastic representative of WIU," said WIU Director of Admissions Andrew Borst. "She cares deeply about the success of the students she works with in southern Illinois and the St. Louis area. Her service and leadership within the MOACAC organization demonstrates how much she cares about building relationships with students, their families, high school counselors and community college representatives."

Staggs has been a regional admissions counselor for Western since 2005, and has been involved in MOACAC and the association's Illinois chapter for the past several years. She has served as the Professional Development Committee co-chairperson and coordinated many events and workshops.

Staggs accepted the award at an April 16 luncheon in Overland Park, KS.
