WIU Fall 2015 International Student Scholarship Awards

MACOMB, IL — Several international students at Western Illinois University will receive scholarships for the Fall 2015 semester. According to Center of International Studies Assistant Director of Orientation and Student Activities Dana Vizdal, the student scholarships are awarded to currently enrolled students. The Fall 2015 scholarships and recipients are listed below.

WEOG (Western Europeans and Others Group) — $500 Each

  • Catherine Tate (U.K.), biology
  • Shyan Rochell Edwards (Jamaica), sociology (graduate student)
  • Qinghui Liu (China), nursing
  • Hekim Seidov (Turkmenistan), instructional media and technology (graduate student)
  • Xitong (Rebecca) Chen (China), art and journalism (double major)

Bessie Meyers Scholarship Fund — $375

Gloria Chinonye Nnabuike (Nigeria), mathematics (graduate student)

Dr. In-Kon Kim Scholarship — $875

Jongin Park (Korea), accounting

Macomb Branch AAUW International Student Scholarship – $425

Nang Lin (Myanmar), nursing

Oluseye Kolawole Scholarship — $500

Chikodili Obi (Nigeria), health sciences (graduate student)

Rodney and Bertha Fink International Scholarship – $1,000*

Aamani Chennu (India), computer science (graduate student) (*$500 Fall, $500 Spring)

Francis and Peggy Davern Scholarship — $125

Henry Onyia (Nigeria), health science (graduate student)

Ruth Hughes WESL Scholarship – $750

Alireza Ghods (Iran), computer science (graduate student)
