Board Grants Tenure

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- Twenty-six Western Illinois University faculty members were granted tenure by the WIU Board of Trustees at the Board's June 12 meeting.

Tenure requests were submitted by President Jack Thomas based on an extensive evaluation process at the department, college and University levels regarding the faculty member's teaching, research and service activities.

Faculty members granted tenure, effective August 2015, are:

Meshack Afitlhile, biological sciences; Esteban D. Araya, physics; Mark L. Bernards, agriculture; Marcus L. Büker, geography; Amanda Divin, health sciences and social work; Kimberly D. Dodson, law enforcement and justice administration; Amy J. Ekanayake, mathematics; Dinesh B. Ekanayake, mathematics; Joel Gruver, agriculture; Jin Jin, chemistry; Ranbir S. Kang, geography; Ta-Teh Ku, art; T. Casey Lafrance, political science; Seungmug Lee, law enforcement and justice administration; Anthony McBride, law enforcement and justice administration; Breanna McEwan, communication; Rene Noppe, educational and interdisciplinary studies and educational leadership; Katherine E. Perone, health sciences and social work; MaCherie Placide, political science; Andrea Porras-Alfaro, biological sciences; Robert Porter, recreation, park and tourism administration; Jack L. Rozdilsky, health sciences and social work; Shane D. Sanders, economics and decision sciences; Bhavneet Walia, economics and decision sciences; Ronald C. Williams, educational and interdisciplinary studies and educational leadership; Zhiqiang Yan, accountancy and finance.
