MACOMB, IL -- The sixth annual Phi Beta Delta Scholarship Dinner was held in November 2018. The event, a Taste of India, featured authentic Indian cuisine, a presentation, entertainment and silent auction. Members of Phi Beta Delta and Indian students prepared the food, and profits from the event totaled over $1,000.  These funds are used to support international education scholarships.

One semester the scholarship is given to a student who is studying abroad and the other semester it is given to an international student.  This year's international student scholarship recipients are Ibiyinka Amokeodo, a graduate student in health sciences from Nigeria, and Israel Bonsu, a graduate student in applied statistics and decision analysis, from Ghana.

"This scholarship would be beneficial to me financially as it will be added to my tuition, making it reduced," said Amokeodo.

Bonsu said he never thought he would win the scholarship because of how competitive it has always been.

"This scholarship has come at the right time to lessen my financial obligations," he said. "Thank you for contributing to my success story."

The next scholarship dinner will be in November 2019 and titled "Cruisin' the Caribbean."
