Policing Dissent: LEJA Faculty Oct. 17 Panel Discussion to Address Political Protest Management

MACOMB, IL - - Faculty in Western Illinois University's Homeland Security Research Program and School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) have organized a panel discussion, "Policing Dissent: The Ethical Management of Political Protests in the United States," for later this month.
The panel discussion is slated for 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Stipes Hall, room 121, and is open free to the public.
Panelists are faculty from WIU's School of LEJA and include: Dean Alexander, associate professor, who will cover the anarchist threat in the U.S.; Todd Lough, associate professor, who will cover the evolution of protest policing and serve as the moderator; Bob Elliot, instructor, who will cover critical incident management; and Thomas Meloni, assistant professor, who will cover ethical perspectives and policing protests.
