Retirement Reception for Jeanne Clerc April 29

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Health Sciences is hosting a retirement reception for Professor Jeanne Clerc from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Stipes Hall 501. Refreshments will be served.
Clerc began her tenure at Western in 2004 as the associate provost for WIU-QC and extended studies and a professor in the educational leadership department. In 2008, she began her post as a professor in the health sciences department.
Prior to her career in higher education, she practiced as a registered medical technologist (clinical laboratory scientist) and is certified as a specialist in hematology through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. In her career, Clerc taught at the community college and university levels, as well as served in various higher education administrative capacities, such as a dean and an associate provost.
She authored the textbook "An Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Science," as well as two chapters for the editor of a hematology textbook. She has also published numerous journal articles throughout her career and received more than $1 million in grant funding for various research projects.
Clerc earned her Ed.D. in allied health education/administration from the University of Houston in 1983, her master's degree in community college education (biology) from Central Michigan University in 1977 and her bachelor's degree in medical technology at Saginaw Valley State College in 1974.
