H1N1 Injectable Vaccine Clinic Nov. 11 on WIU-Macomb Campus

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's Beu Health Center will offer an injectable H1N1 vaccine clinic (to obtain the H1N1 "flu shot") 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the University Union Algonquin Room; however, the vaccine will be administered only to "high risk" WIU students, faculty and staff who meet the following requirements:

• Pregnant women;
• People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age;
• Healthcare and emergency medical personnel;
• Persons 18-24 years of age;
• Persons from 25-64 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions (asthma, heart disease, etc.) or a weakened immune system.

Qualifying individuals must present a current WIU ID. The injectable H1N1 vaccine, which is offered at no cost, will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The nasal spray is available for those who do not suffer from chronic medical conditions and meet the criteria for getting the mist.
