Women's Center Seeks Work By Women Writers for Journal

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Women's Center is seeking submissions for its inaugural publication of "Women's Voices Journal." Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Jan. 29.

The journal will be released in March in honor of National Women's History Month (WHM). The theme for WHM 2008 is "Women's Art: Women's Vision."

Female students, staff, faculty and community members are encouraged to submit personal essays, poetry, short fiction/non-fiction, reviews, research articles, editorials and biographical sketches.

Poetry submissions should be no more than 40 lines, and other submissions should not exceed 1,000 words. A maximum of three creative pieces may be submitted by any individual.

Submissions must include the author's first and last name, age (occupation and/or major optional); and short bio (approximately 2-5 lines), along with phone number, local address and e-mail address; as well as title(s), number of lines or words; and medium used (or any relevant classification) of each piece. Submissions may be delivered to the Women's Center, 320 Seal Hall, or e-mailed to womenscenter@wiu.edu.
