MACOMB, IL -- Challenge yourself!

Western Illinois University's Horn Field Campus will host an open high ropes course from
1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 20. The high ropes course is an experience in which individuals are challenged to solve a series of rope and cable elements suspended 40-feet above the ground. The elements are designed to improve initiative, motivation, problem-solving skills, risk-taking ability and especially self-confidence.

According to Mindy Harpman, Horn Field Campus program coordinator, the high ropes course is safely negotiated by using climbing equipment, which includes safety harnesses and helmets.

"Participants are encouraged to take risks that allow them to expand their comfort zones and learn more about themselves," Harpman added. "Individuals determine their own level of participation."

Cost for the open high ropes course April 20 is $10 per person, which includes training and equipment. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals are encouraged to bring food and drinks.
