Heavy Traffic, West Adams Partial Detour During WIU Move-In

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Office of Public Safety reminds area residents of the heavy traffic that will descend upon Macomb streets with residence hall move-in scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23.
Streets to avoid are University Drive off of Rt. 67 (Lafayette Ave.), which lines cars up for students to move in to the North Quad (Bayliss-Henninger-Tanner-Wetzel) and Higgins and Thompson Hall; and West Adams St., which serves Corbin, Olson, Grote, Washington and Lincoln halls.
On Saturday (Aug. 23), Adams Street will be open for westbound traffic only from Charles Street to Clay Street from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Eastbound traffic will have detour signs to follow.
