MACOMB, IL - - Four current and former faculty members of Western Illinois University's art department, along with art alumni, have offered a total of 70 prints for a silent auction at the WIU Art Gallery, which will benefit a new Welsh-American Printmaking Scholarship.
Associate Professor of Art Bill Howard and professors emeritus Fred Jones, Jim Neumann and Sam Parker have provided prints for the silent auction.
The prints are on display in the Art Gallery on the second floor. Bidding, which ends at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, must be done in person at the Art Gallery. Interested people may view the artworks and place a bid at the Art Gallery Thursday-Friday, Nov. 5-6 and Monday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and from 6-7:30 p.m.
All prints are available for a "buy it now price." Former student prints are $50 and will be available for purchase Nov. 10.
Faculty prints are available to view online at wiu.edu/cofac/printauction. Click on the faculty member's name and scroll down the page to view the price and the print.
All proceeds from the Welsh-American Printmaking Scholarship silent auction will benefit the scholarship fund for WIU students to study abroad at Cardiff College of Art and Design in Cardiff, Wales.
