MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Center for International Studies (CIS) will present "ACIREMA," a cross-cultural simulation game, from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Nov. 20, in the University Union Heritage Room as part of the International Education Week.

The game is designed to give participants a glimpse into the points of view of international students in their pursuit of an education in the United States, explained Kevin Timlin, CIS assistant director. ACIREMA acquaints participants with the procedures students must follow from the initial contact with a U.S. educational institution to their arrival on campus.

"It's sure to provide a new perspective on things, particularly some of the difficulties international students may encounter in their quest for an American education," he added.

The exercise is open to all WIU faculty and staff, but is limited to 30 participants. Interested participants must reserve a spot by Wednesday, Nov. 18 by contacting the Center for International Studies at (309) 298-2485 or CIS-Activities@wiu.edu.

For more information on the simulation, contact Timlin at (309) 298-2485 or
