Guest Vocal Master Class

MACOMB, IL – University of Music Vienna Professor Anna Wagner will hold a vocal master class on German art songs at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 in Browne Hall 130 on the Western Illinois University Macomb campus.
Vocal students from WIU will be performing, and working, with Wagner on compositions by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf and Strauss.
Wagner performs chamber music on a regular basis with members of the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, and in the summer she presents workshops in Vienna for voice teachers. After high school, she enrolled at both the University of Music and at the University of Vienna, and she earned degrees in music. She has performed with many professional singers and has recorded with baritone Wolfgang Holzmair, who performs with leading European and American opera companies and orchestras. Wagner has performed and taught in Austria, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Japan.
The event is open free to the public.
Wagner's visit is sponsored by the Visiting Lecturers Committee, the College of Fine Arts and Communication and the School of Music.
