Conferences & Workshops
Conferences and workshops serving the professional development needs of teachers, school administrators, social workers, school psychologists, speech language pathologists and other professionals are offered by Non-Credit Programs on the WIU campus and in area cities.
Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) for teachers and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for licensure or certification for a variety of professions are offered in conjunction with many programs.
- Exclusion & Aggression Conference

- This conference will examine the bullying phenomena and the many methods and ways educators, social workers, school psychologists, and other helping professionals may identify and intervene. Afternoon break-out sessions include cyberbullying and an overview of the Olweus Bully Prevention program. Participants are eligible for continuing professional development units (CPDUs), WIU continuing education units (CEUs), and social worker contact hours.

- West Central Illinois Volunteerism Conference
October 29, 2009
- This one day conference provides a resource for those involved in the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers. Registration includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and door prizes. - This one day conference is offered annually through the WIU History Department. Multiple sessions on various topics of history are covered throughout the day. Previous sessions include Kennedy and Vietnam, the Third Reich, the French Revolution, and the American Civil War. Conference attendees are eligible to receive continuing professional development units (CPDUs).
