The intent of the scholarship is to assist undergraduate or graduate students in a nursing program at Western Illinois University. Students must be admitted to the School of Nursing. Applicant’s legal permanent address must be in a rural area of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. Preference will be given to undergraduate students with financial need and a desire to work in public health or community health in rural areas of Illinois and to students enrolled in the RN-BSN Completion program.
Graduate applicants should be admitted to graduate study in public health nursing or community health nursing in either the clinical specialist program or nurse practitioner program at Western Illinois University.
Applications can be obtained
The amount of the award is $1000 annually applied to students account.
Recipients will be selected by the Greishaber Fink Scholarship Committee in the School of Nursing.
Applicants should have two (2) letters of reference sent using the attached form. Financial need IS a consideration.

This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient(s) maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA, continue to be enrolled in the Western Illinois University nursing program, and continue to make satisfactory progress towards degree completion.
