About Opera-On-Wheels Western Illinois University OPERA-ON-WHEELS was established to provide local schools and communities with the opportunity to experience opera. Touring versions of one-act operas travel to schools within a 100-mile radius of WIU, performed by graduate and undergraduate WIU School of Music students. School performances are aimed at students K-12. Repertoire is chosen for its musical integrity, educational, and entertainment value.
