The most basic foundation for a good education is optimal personal health & enjoyment of personal safety.
At Western, we strive to provide the opportunity for all members of our campus community to strive for both, through a comprehensive strategy including;
- Assessment - Online self-assessments, assessments by professional counselors, institutional risk avoidance assessments
- Education- First Year Experience, Freshman Orientation, Residence hall programming, Peer Education
- Early identification & intervention- Training of residence hall staff, faculty/staff, peers, student self-referral
- Environmental management- Building security, campus team police stationed in residence halls, transportation planning
