Music Department Entrance
Percussion auditions for entrance into the Music Department are scheduled on: Rick Kurasz and student playing drums

  • Saturday, December 6, 2003
  • Saturday, February 7, 2004
  • Monday, February 16, 2004
  • Saturday, March 20, 2004

Each audition should consist of:

  • A solo or etude for keyboard percussion (four mallets preferred)
  • A solo or etude for snare drum
  • A solo or etude for timpani
  • Drumset (optional, but strongly encouraged)

Sight-reading is required in all three areas.
Those who include drumset on the audition will be expected to demonstrate differing playing styles and four bar breaks in a jazz, Latin and rock idiom.
