Lessons

Applied percussion lessons are part of the music curriculum for all areas of emphasis at Western Illinois University. Percussion majors receive a 50-minute lesson and percussion minors a 30-minute lesson once a week. The weekly time is arranged between the student and instructor. The level of the student and the faculty's recommendation determines course of study. A jury is performed at the end of each semester for the percussion faculty. This performance is the final exam and is included in the final grade. The three main percussion instrumental areas are represented on every jury.

There are no applied lesson or practice room fees.
