Center for the Application of Information Technologies (CAIT)

Given the mission of CAIT, information technologies and their utilization in instruction, the primary focus or purpose of this web site is as a clearing house or link to information, training, and information technology.

Center for Innovation, Teaching & Research (CITR)

CITR assists in training faculty and staff in the use of technology and the pedogogy of integrating technology in an academic setting. CITR improves instruction by providing information about student characteristics and performance, teaching techniques and current pedagogical issues in higher education that enable faculty members to be effective classroom teachers.

ECOM

ECOM (Electronic Communication) is a collection of computer services which provide access to WIU on-line services as well as Internet resources. Ex: E-mail, personal webpages, etc.

GUAVA

GUAVA is a graphical web-based interface that provides access to your ECOM account web services, e-mail services, web server services and more.

STARS

STARS lets you manage your college years by registering for classes, adding food points, checking your transcript and much more.

University Technology Committee

Two main committees, one of representative users and one of technology administrators, provide recommendations regarding the use and growth of technology at the University.

Western Online (WebCT)

WebCT provides a web-based system used by faculty for testing, teaching and much more. Development resources for faculty are available online.

Webmail

Allows users to access e-mail from any web browser connected to the Internet.

Web Support Services

Maintains upper levels of the WIU web site and provides support for academic departments.
