Notice to Renewing Providers Regarding Fingerprinting
Providers who have been fingerprinted for Early Intervention using the Provider Connections' ORI, DO NOT need to be fingerprinted again. The renewal notice sent to renewing providers will have an "X" in the Received/Approved Box if Provider Connections has already received fingerprint results. The Illinois State Police has the capability to notify Provider Connections of any subsequent convictions. This requirement does not apply the the Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) check done through the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). The CANTS check will be completed at each renewal using the authorization form in the renewal application and takes 6-8 weeks to complete.
