Downloading and Installing the Viewbook iBook

Requirements:

• • This book was created with iBooks Author 2. It can only be read with iBooks on an iPad.
  • It requires iBooks version 3 running iOS 5.1 or later.
  • Syncing books made with iBooks Author requires iTunes 10.5.3 or later

Method 1 – Download on iPad (Preferred):

Step 1: Tap Download iBook to begin downloading the ibook to your iPad. This will cause a blank page to open in your Safari browser. You can check the progress of your download in the URL field. This may take several minutes depending on your connection.

Step 2: Once downloaded you will see 2 options in the browser window. Tap the “Open in iBooks” option. This will cause iBooks to open. After a few seconds iBooks will open the viewbook.

Method 2 – Download on Computer, then sync to iPad

Step 1: Click Download iBook to begin downloading the ibook to your computer.

Step 2: Once completed launch iTunes. Locate the downloaded iBook file. Click and drag it to you “Books” folder in your iTunes “Library”.

Step 3: Once the book has been copied into iTunes, connect your iPad to your computer and click “Sync”. *Note: You must have “Sync Books” checked in your settings for this to work.

Step 4: Launch iBooks on your iPad and tap the Viewbook’s cover to open the book.
