Western Illinois University - Quad Cities Programs

Undergraduate Programs

Transfer candidates can complete the undergraduate Elementary Education or the Early Childhood Education program at the WIU-QC campus in Moline, Illinois. Candidates complete lower division general education courses and articulated pre-elementary or pre-early childhood courses at a community college or the Western Illinois University campus in Macomb.

Graduate Programs

Two graduate programs are offered on the WIU-QC campus. Completing the M.S. in Education with a major in elementary education enables certified teachers to further develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to be a highly effective early childhood, elementary, or middle school teacher.

The M.S. in Education with a major in reading is an approved program for certified teachers seeking the Illinois K-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement or the Iowa K-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement.

Teachers who desire to do so can complete the coursework required for an Illinois Reading Teacher Endorsement or an Iowa Reading Endorsement without completing the entire degree program.
