Student life at WIU-QC can be more than coursework. Students can develop their potential at WIU-QC with a variety of activities and organizations. Through student organizations, WIU-QC students take social responsibility seriously, giving back to the community in a variety of ways.

Targeting academically talented students, the WIU-QC Honors Program revolves around the production of a portfolio that documents a variety of mentored honors experiences, including research collaboration with faculty or community professionals, internships, involvement in volunteer organizations, presentations at professional conferences and a host of other creative opportunities.
WIU-QC students can explore the world with study abroad opportunities and earn academic credit in more than 100 programs around the world. Students can participate in a short-term study abroad experience of stay for a semester or full academic year.
SGA provides students with a voice in governance and a forum to express opinions about the University's traditions, ideas, and affairs. The SGA represents the wishes of the student body to University administrators and staff.
Emissaries are chosen by faculty and staff to serve as student ambassadors and assist with planning and implementing the New Student Orientation, serve as mentors for Scott Community College and Black Hawk College students, and participate in college fairs at local high schools and community colleges.
Western Outlook is the WIU-QC student nespaper. The monthly paper offers positions in editing, writing, photgraphy and graphic design.
Students of all backgrounds are welcome to join this student organization celebrating Latin American heritage and culture. ALAS offeres opportunities to participate and plan a variety of cultural, educational, and social opportunities. ALAS welcomes all students during the annual "Spring Pre-Finals Fiesta" to celebrate authentic Mexican cuisine, music, and dancing.
SOA prepares members to meet the challenges of pursuing an accounting or business career. It explores the accounting profession with a focus on newly created fields, offering speakers, interactive meetings, and community service. The SOA sponsors the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program each spring.
SOE brings together teacher education students at WIU-QC and Black Hawk College to encourage academic achievement, foster professional development, and promote dialogue between students, faculty, and the community. SOE coordinates the WIU-Quad Cities Block Party every fall and the Scholastic Book sale.
SRA, designed for studetns Recreation, Park & Tourism Administration program, assists with the creation of recreation experiences and events for WIU-QC students, faculty, and staff. SRA events have included a children's Halloween party, Mallards Night at The Mark, and an annual spring conference.
QCCA enhances the Educational experience of graduate counseling students and works to help students further their counseling skills and interest in counseling. QCCA participates in community service initiatives and hosts Manage Your Stress Week during final exams.
