Student Activities

Life at WIU-QC can be more than coursework. Students develop their potential at WIU-QC with a variety of activities and organizations.

Career Services

Your education will prepare you for your career, and Career Services will help prepare you for a job search. Career Services assists students with resume writing, job search tips, mock interviews, credential file set-up, and career interest assessment. Information is also available about upcoming career fairs and job posts.

What's a credential file? Your electronic personal file includes information you would want to share with potential employers. Contents include a resume, unofficial transcripts, awards, performance evaluations, and letters of recommendation.

What is SIGI Plus? (System of Interactive Guidance Information) This computer program is accessible using your WIU ECOM account, and allows you to search and learn more about skill requirements and preparation paths for certain occupations. The self-assessment component can help you determine which career might be right for you based on your interests and goals.

Counseling

Balancing life with your education can be challenging. Confidential counseling is available to students free of charge to help cope with personal, emotional, and psychological issues. Students can schedule an appointment with Dr. Sonia Sharma to talk about stress management, depression, time management, grief and loss, relationships, time management skills, and other difficulties. Disability Support

Western Illinois University is committed to justice, equity, and diversity. Providing equal opportunities for students with disabilities is a campus-wide responsibility and commitment in which Disability Support Services (DSS) plays a primary role.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects qualified students from discrimination on the basis of disability and ensures the provision of reasonable accommodations. DSS coordinates these accommodations and additional services for qualified students with disabilities enrolled at Western. While eligibility for services is determined on a case-by-case basis, listed below are examples of typical accommodations that students might receive.

For more information about disability support, please contact WIU-QC Student Services at 309/762-9481.
