The RPTA program is a professional preparation degree that develops not only students’ transferable skills (e.g., critical thinking, communication and writing skills, organizational abilities) but also specific job competencies (e.g., leisure programming, evaluation and leadership skills). The RPTA-QC program is designed to provide the 60 semester hours of upper division courses necessary for students with an Associate’s degree to complete the requirements for their Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. And transfer students can complete all their RPTA required courses in three consecutive semesters—that’s only one calendar year of study at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities!
