Program Details

General: You are REQUIRED to follow the COVID-19 policies of your host school, host country, the CDC and TSA. It is your responsibility to know and understand these policies. If policies change before or during your program, it is your responsbility to comply with the new policies. Failure to do so can result in removal from your program and/or the host country, financial consequences and academic consequences at the host school and WIU. Colegio de Espana is a Spanish language school located in historic Salamanca, Spain. This program offers unique opportunities to customize your program based on personal and academic needs. 

Housing and Meals: Students have several accommodation options that are described in detail on the Colegio de Espana accomodation website.  

Entry Requirements: The visa required for students will vary based on the length of time of their program. Students who are US citizens going for three months or less will not need a visa. All other students wil need a visa prior to their entry to Spain. Visa requirements can be found on the Spanish Consulate's website. 

Health Insurance: It is a university policy that all WIU students who study abroad are either covered under WIU student health insurance OR have purchased the Patriot Travel Medical Insurance plan through IMG.

Academics

Students can potentially earn 6 s.h. of Spanish for each month of study if they choose to take the Special Intensive course. This means students can earn 24 s.h. or more in a single semester.
