Program Details

General:   You are  REQUIRED  to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate in this program. Proof of vaccination will be required prior to WIU registration. John Cabot University is located in the heart of Rome along the Tiber river. It is an American university which means that the curriculum is similar to what you expect on a US campus. This is an ideal option for students looking to take general education courses abroad.

Semester Programs: Students can participate in a semester or academic year program at John Cabot where they will have opportunities to take coursework in English in a variety of disciplines. Students will also have access to Italian language courses. 

Summer Program: John Cabot offers two summer sessions. Each session is 4 weeks and students can choose to take one or two classes. It is possible to participate in both summer sessions for a total of 8 weeks. More information about the summer program can be found on their website

Housing and Meals: Accommodation is available in student apartments. More information about housing options can be found on the accommodation website.

Entry Requirements: Students participating in a summer program and are US citizens do not need to apply for a visa. Students  participating in semester or academic-year programs must apply for a visa before entering Italy. More information can be found on the Italian consulate's website

Health Insurance: It is a university policy that all WIU students who study abroad are either covered under WIU student health insurance OR have purchased the Patriot Travel Medical Insurance plan through IMG.
