Why is it Important to Gain a Global Experience ?

Video Contest Rules

  • Video submission must be 90 seconds in length and describe why is it important for students to gain a global experience
  • Participants should be degree-seeking WIU students eligible to study abroad
  • Participants should submit signed form to Dawn Gray (dm-gray@wiu.edu) indicating that they agree with the Terms and Conditions as described and provide the unlisted YouTube link to the original video.
  • Contest open until April 1, 2018
  • Contest winners will be decided by a panel of judges utilizing this rubric (view)
  • Top 2 videos will be awarded (1st) $750 & (2nd) $500 to be used towards a study abroad course/program within two years.

 Video Contest Terms and Conditions

  •  Entries must be original work and wholly owned property of the entrant (content must not infringe on any third-party's rights (including but not limited to intellectual property rights);
  •   May not contain any copyrighted works including but not limited to trademarks, name of third-party organization or logo or any other intellectual property;
  •  By submitting an entry, the entrant acknowledges the submission may be posted on the website for the WIU Office of Study Abroad and Outreach or any other official WIU website, including social media, at the discretion of the staff in the WIU Office of Study Abroad and Outreach.
  •  Submission of an entry grants the WIU Office of Study Abroad and Outreach and its agents exclusive unconditional, irrevocable, worldwide rights to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the entry in any way in whole or in part, in any and all media without limitation, without requiring approval before or after from the entrant and without compensation or consideration to the entrant whether or not such entry is selected as a winning entry.

  • Spring 2024 Study Abroad scholarships now open!

    Scholarship applications for Spring 2024 study abroad programs are now open. More information about the scholarships and the application form can be found on our website. The application deadline is midnight, Wednesday, November 1, 2023. If you have any questions about the scholarships, please contact Kim McDaniel, Study Abroad Advisor, at kd-mcdaniel@wiu.edu.
