International Photo Contest
Celebrate returned Study Abroad students through our annual International Photo Contest! The contest culminates at the Study Abroad and Outreach booth at the International Bazaar held March 3, 2018.
Submissions will be posted to the Study Abroad Facebook page for online voting February 19-25. The top 12 photos, as determined by the number of Facebook “likes”, will be enlarged and displayed at the International Bazaar. Attendees will determine the winners from those finalists. First prize is $100.
Photo Contest Rules
- Open to students who studied abroad during Spring, Summer or Fall 2017
- Photos must be at least 1920 pixels on their longest side. No digitally manipulated or panoramic photos
- Limit of three (3) photos per person
- Submission must include student’s name, WIU email address, name of foreign school/study abroad program, and location
- Online submissions only through the link below
- Submission deadline: 12 am (midnight), Sunday, February 18, 2018
Photo Contest Terms and Conditions
- By submitting photos, entrants give permission to the Office of Study Abroad and Outreach (SAO) to use them in the future. Additionally, entrants certify they took or have rights to the image(s) submitted.
- Photos of students, cultural elements or groups are preferred over photos of landmarks, sights, etc.. If photos with people are submitted, entrants should check with SAO whether additional permissions are required.
- SAO reserves the right to exclude inappropriate photos and/or those that do not meet the submission guidelines. All eligible submissions will be posted to Facebook.
- SAO reserves the right to exclude a finalist from the Bazaar exhibition if the enlarged photo is blurry or pixelated.

Spring 2024 Study Abroad scholarships now open!
Scholarship applications for Spring 2024 study abroad programs are now open. More information about the scholarships and the application form can be found on our website.
