WIU scholarship programs represent a strong tradition of helping WIU students. The new Western Way initiative could provide full tuition and fees to qualifying freshman and transfer students.
Scholarship Information 2024-25
President's Scholarship: 100% of tuition and more
Awards 100% of your tuition, fees, room and meal plan
AIM HIGH Western Commitment Scholarships: up to $7,000
Awards up to $3,000, $5,000 or $7,000 per year based on your GPA
Alumni Legacy Scholarships: Up to $1,000
Awards up to $1,000 per year to children and grandchildren of WIU graduates
Local Leatherneck Housing Scholarships: Up to $3,000
Awards up to $3,000 for housing if your hometown is near Macomb
Transfer Commitment Scholarships: Up to $2,000
Awards up to $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 per year based on your college GPA

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships: Up to $1,000
Awards up to $1,000 to members of Phi Theta Kappa

Scholarship awards are sent to new transfer applicants 4-6 weeks after the posted deadline.

William "Dr. B." and Jacquie Brattain Transfer Scholarship | No minimum requirements | Resident of Hancock, McDonough, or Schuyler County, IL; Transfer from community college; Demonstration of academic excellence and community involvement | Varies |
Sheila A. Grone Roehlk Scholarship | Minimum 3.25 GPA | Education major; Financial need; Preference to a Galesburg IL high school graduate; Incoming freshman also considered | $2,000 |

COEHS Transfer Book Scholarship | Minimum 3.0 GPA | Financial need; History of employment; Preference given to students with a major in College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) | $500 |
