has six general areas of responsibility:

(1) Liaison with and monitoring of governmental agencies,

(2) Information clearinghouse regarding funding opportunities
and awards administration,

(3) Coordination of the preparation, clearance, review, and submission of proposals,

(4) Post-award administration (not fiscal reporting and monitoring),

(5) Oversight of federal regulations and assurance of compliance by WIU
investigators,

(6) Administration of the University Research Council Faculty Grants, and

(7) Grant related workshops and outreach to faculty.
