Description:Learn to chart a course for all preschool learners using RTI (Response to Intervention). This workshop will highlight the three-tiered system
approach in academics and challenging behavior. Enhance the Tier 1 foundation level with evidence-based best practices. You will become familiar with
universal screening tools and how to use assessments effectively. Understand how to identify Tier 2 and 3 students by analyzing data and implementing
interventions for each tier. A collaborative problem-solving model for "top of the tier" students will be shared.
Presenter Bios:Donna Nylander, M.S.Ed., is Principal of the Valley View Early Childhood Center School District 365U in Bolingbrook/Romeoville,
Illinois. She has been an educator, Regional Coordinator for the STARNET System and an Early Childhood Administrator in the public schools for 18 years.
Donna's master's degree is in Early Childhood Leadership and Administration. Since 2006, the Valley View Early Childhood Center has been learning and
implementing RTI practices using the three-tiered approach and the Pyramid on Challenging Behavior. Additional professional contributions include:
webinar co-presenter for RTI Talks for RTI Action Network -" RTI in Early Childhood” presenter on Response To Intervention (RTI) at state and national
conferences appointed to the Governor's Illinois Early Learning Council and served on the national and state executive board of CEC/DEC professional
organization.
This training will provide 5 contact hours for the following:
- CPDUs (Continuing Professional Development Units) for teacher certification
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) #2, #7
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area(s) C, D
Full attendance is required to receive a certificate.
