Description: Child Outcomes and accountability have been a requirement since 2005. It is important that we understand the process and know how to use
the data we gather. This workshop is designed to help participants understand the Early Childhood Outcomes requirements. We will review the background,
discuss federal and state requirements, forms, timelines, gathering information, the rating process, and how to use the ratings.
Presenter Bios:Joan Leff, M.Ed., has been with Starnet Regions I /III for over 14 years. She is currently a part-time Early Childhood Resource Specialist
for Starnet Regions I & III and has over 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, both in the classroom and as a trainer/consultant.
Her past experiences have included working with early childhood professionals as well as young children and their families in the Early Intervention,
preschool, and primary grade settings. Joan has presented at numerous local, state, national, and international conferences over these many years. Over 60
workshop presentations have included topics such as child development, environments, observation, blending, play, curriculum, and assessment to name a
few. Joan has also been the Executive Producer and host of over 20 APPLES Video Magazine satellite/DVD programs.
Connie Shugart, Project Coordinator STARNET Regions I & III, has over 30 years of experience working in the field of early childhood education. Her
experiences include teaching and/or training of early childhood and early intervention professionals and families. She has done presentations at many
regional, state and national conferences. A few of her topics include curriculum, assessment, standards, environments, child development, and play. Connie
is also one of the Executive Producers and hosts of Apples Magazine training videos. Her passions include educating professionals and families on play and
the impact that the early childhood environment has on teaching and learning.
This training will provide 5 contact hours for the following:
- CPDUs (Continuing Professional Development Units) for teacher certification
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) #7
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area(s) C
Full attendance is required to receive a certificate.
