Temporary Chillers
The loss of cooling capability in Horrabin and Currens Halls in Summer 2007 necessitated emergency budget reallocation to obtain temporary chillers until a more permanent solution could be determined. The process is underway to select an engineering firm to design a permanent solution with should be in place by Spring 2008.
Current chiller rental costs are $37,000 per month with electricity to run the units at $1,000 per day.
