Membership Information
Fee-paying students of Western Illinois University are automatically members of Campus Recreation.
To be eligible to purchase a membership, you must have at least one hour of a fee-paying WIU class. Alumni (graduate) status of WIU will be verified. Only Spoon River College students who live in WIU Residence Halls are eligible to purchase a membership. Faculty/Staff/Retired who are taking classes can qualify for a free membership only if they also have a fee-paying WIU class verified that is not a waiver class. This information can only be verified Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by our Business Manager.
All memberships, except employee payroll deduction, are payable by cash or check only. Contact Julie Terstriep, our Business Manager, at JL-Terstriep@wiu.edu and she will send an employee payroll deduction form to you through Campus Mail.
Guest Passes
Any member can purchase a $5.00 guest pass for a nonmember. The guest must be 16 or older, present a valid picture ID, have a parent or guardian signed waiver, and be accompanied by the member at all times. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the facility except during Family Swim or another event specified for children. Members are allowed a maximum of two guests per day. Faculty, staff, and graduates of Western, as well as their spouses or domestic partners, may purchase memberships at the Front Desk.
Summer Memberships
Summer semester memberships are available for purchase by students who were enrolled during the spring semester or who are pre-enrolled for the fall semester. Dates of summer membership are May 15, 2011 to August 4, 2011.
Employee Wellness Pass
Campus Recreation is offering a Wellness Pass in support of the WIU Employee Wellness program. All WIU faculty and staff--who have never had a membership before--can try out the Spencer Student Recreation Center by purchasing a one-time, six-week trial membership for $25.00. Membership Costs
Faculty/Staff/Retired (& their spouses/domestic partners), Sodexo employees and Chaplains:
- Fall or Spring Semester: $125.00
- Summer Semester: $80.00
- Yearly: $250.00
- Payroll Deduction for Yearly: $20.83/month or $10.42/bi-weekly
- Punch Cards (10 visits): $30.00
WIU Student's spouses/domestic partners, SRC Residential/Online/Quad City Students:
- Fall or Spring Semester: $125.00
- Summer Semester: $80.00
WIU Alumni and spouses/domestic partners:
- Fall or Spring Semester: $150.00
- Summer Semester: $95.00
- Yearly: $300.00
- Punch Cards (10 visits): $30.00
Membership Dates
- Summer Semester memberships - May 15, 2011 to August 4, 2011
- Fall Semester memberships - August 5, 2011 to December 31, 2011
- Spring Semester memberships - January 1, 2012 to May 12, 2012
- Yearly memberships are for one full calendar year.
