On-Campus Basic Meal Plan
Designed for the student who is a very light consumer; typically might skip breakfast, occasionally miss lunch or dinner or is away from campus on the weekends, and does not plan to use the meal plan in the convenience stores or for pizza delivery.
Option 1:
Designed for the student who is an average consumer that eats most meals on campus and only occasionally plans to use the meal plan in the convenience stores, or late night pizza delivery. Additional $50 per semester purchasing power.
Option 2:
Designed for the frequent consumer who plans to eat more than 12 meals per week in a resident dining center and plans on purchasing items from the convenience stores and late night pizza delivery. Additional $200 per semester purchasing power.
Because eating is important, campus dining is required for everyone who lives on campus. Each student purchases the meal plan (which has three options from which to choose) at a rate that is determined by the date of acceptance to the University. Your purchasing power is automatically loaded on your ID card at the start of each semester. Then your Id essentially becomes a debit card that you can use at any dining location on campus! A maximum of $1,200 per semester can be added to your current meal plan by charging to a University/student account. Once a semester charge limit is reached, a student may only add money to a meal plan using a pre-paid method (cash, check, credit card).
Off-Campus Meal Plan
Students living off-campus have the option of purchasing a meal plan. A minimum first time buy-in of $100 each year is required. If you need to add more funds a range of $10 to $250 may be added at any time.
All meal plans work at any dining center, convenience store, the University Union Food court , malpass Mocha and Stipes Dividends. Students pay for items a la carte. And whether you have an on-campus or off-campus meal plan, when you use your plan at any of the dining centers or dining center convenience stores you are not charged sales tax. You will be charded sales tax at the Univesrity Union and the academic building locations.
You can track your balance at any campus dining regieter or from your STARS account. Running low before the end of the semester? You can add money to your meal plan at any time! To add money or purchase a meal plan, visit UHDS Add Meal Plan Money, from the STARS drop down menu. You can add money to your on- or off-campus meal plan by billing your account. You do not need to prepay. A maximum of $1,800 per semester can be purchased and added to your meal plan by charging to a University/student account. Once a semester charge limit is reached, a student may only add money to a meal plan using a pre-paid method (cash, check, credit card).
