Paying for College

Financial Aid through Western Illinois University

We in the Student Development and Success Center are often asked about financial aid assistance. Though we do not directly offer such through our office, we want to assist you as best we can in determining how you will be able to pay for your college education. Below is a link to the Financial Aid Office website. It has many components, and offers a variety of assistance in determining eligibility and deciphering aid packages. Visit Financial Aid

Student Employment

If you are looking for a job on campus, the best place to start is the office of Student Employment. There, the staff will help you determine if you’re eligible for work-study money, and which offices are seeking student employees. Visit Student Employment

Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS)

Although, this agency is independent of Western Illinois University, DRS often works with WIU students with disabilities. DHS's Division of Rehabilitation Services is the state's lead agency serving individuals with disabilities. DRS works in partnership with people with disabilities and their families to assist them in making informed choices to achieve full community participation through employment, education, and independent living opportunities. In some cases, DRS is able to provide financial assistance and technological equipment. Amy Fort is our campus liaison. For more information, please contact DRS at 309-343-2193 or Visit the DRS website.
