Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
Western's Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy was changed in compliance with new federal regulations that went into effect July 1, 2011 and are developed to help you succeed with a timely graduation.
Your Satisfactory Academic Progress will be evaluated at the end of each term of enrollment at Western (Fall, Spring, and Summer). You are required to meet the following standards each term in order to be eligible for financial aid during your next semester of enrollment:
- Earn at least 67% of the total cumulative hours you have attempted (including transfer, withdrawal, and incomplete hours),
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA at WIU, and
- Not exceed 150% of the hours required for graduation in your program in attempted hours (including transfer, withdrawal, and incomplete hours).
