New Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
Western's Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy will change Fall 2011. The changes are in compliance with new federal regulations that went into effect July 1, 2011 and are developed to help you succeed with a timely graduation.
Beginning December 2011, your Satisfactory Academic Progress will be evaluated at the end of each term (Fall, Spring, and Summer) that you are enrolled at Western. You are required to meet the following standards in order to be eligible for financial aid for the next term:
- Earn at least 67% of the total cumulative hours you have attempted (including transfer, withdrawal, and incomplete hours),
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA at WIU, and
- Not exceed 150% of the hours required for graduation in your program in attempted hours (including transfer, withdrawal, and incomplete hours).
See the complete updated Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy with information about the one time Warning term and the appeal process.
