Accountability Teams and Process

Fraternity/Sorority Life Staff

The Fraternity/Sorority Life (FSL) Staff is responsible for the administration of the Academic Standards Policy and it's corrective measures. The staff is also responsible for the advisement of the Fraternity/Sorority Life Risk Management Committee and the Fraternity/Sorority Life Review Board.

Office of Student Judicial Programs

The Office of Student Judicial Programs will review and investigate any and all allegations of Registered Student Organizations, including fraternities and sororities, that is deemed to be beyond the scope of the Fraternity/Sorority Life Risk Management Committee and/or the Fraternity/Sorority Life Review Board.

Fraternity/Sorority Life Risk Management Committee (RMC)

The Fraternity and Sorority Life Risk Management Committee (FSL RMC) is comprised of one undergraduate member elected from each of the three governing councils. The primary purpose of the three undergraduate members, with advisement from the FSL Staff, is to review appropriate event registrations and reported incidents. It is the responsibility of this committee to ensure fraternal organizations wishing to host events are planning and executing in accordance with the Social Event Management Policy (SEMP).

This committee is also responsible for the organization, training, and chairing of the Fraternity/Sorority Life Review Board.

Fraternity/Sorority Life Review Board

To align with the mission of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL), the FSL Review Board exists to assist in the personal growth and development of our fraternal community by further promoting self governance, accountability, and responsible citizenship.  The FSL Review Board seeks to promote, using both educational and punitive sanctions, actions that align with the values of Western Illinois University and inter/national fraternal organizations. Additionally, to promote the welfare of the individual members and chapters of the fraternal community.

The purpose of the FSL Review Board is to review the allegations of misconduct involving social fraternities and sororities and mediate or adjudicate a resolution to said allegations. Under the Code of Student Conduct, the FSL Review Board has been authorized to review allegations of misconduct involving social fraternities and sororities. Behavioral prescriptions which social fraternities and sororities will be held accountable have been enunciated in the Code of Student Conduct, IFC/PHC/UGC constitutions, and FSL community standards.

Should an accused organization choose not to accept responsibility for any alleged violation(s) a
Fraternity/Sorority Review Board Hearing Review will be conducted.
