Current Rates and Costs

Western Illinois University ensures that your college years will be a good investment with its guaranteed four-year rate for tuition, fees, and room & board. All new undergraduate students entering the University are automatically included in the plan, which freezes the per-hour rate you pay for a four-year period, so costs will stay the same each year you are here.

Here's How It Works...

The rate for tuition, fees, and room and board will be fixed for a four-year period and remain in effect as long as you maintain continuous enrollment. If your major requires more than four years to complete, the guaranteed rate will be extended to cover the expected time for degree completion. Each year the University's Board of Trustees will set new rates for the entering class. If a fee is added and approved by the board, such as funding a new student service, the fee will apply to all students when implemented. The four-year guaranteed cost plan applies to all new students, full- and part-time. If the student has not completed the program within the allotted amount of time, the rate will be advanced by one rate plan and will continue for another two years.

Included in all room rates are:

  • 24-hour live in staff
  • 24-hour maintenance program
  • Cable Television
  • Utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer, garbage)
  • Access to computer labs
  • Access to laundry facilities
