Thompson Hall
Thompson Hall is a 19-story co-educational hall that houses 1000 upper division students on 30 floors. Though Thompson Hall is one building, the men and women live on separate floors. Thompson Hall is also home to a 24-hour computer lab. The second floor houses one of the University Writing Centers, a great resource for all students. Thompson Hall also offers the Transfer Year Experience community.
Thompson Hall is connected to the Thompson Campus Dining Center and contains a C-Store, providing quick access to meals and convenience-store items.
Thompson Hall is known for its active residents and several major programs each year. One major philanthropic event, which Thompson Hall co-sponsors, is: Big Pink Volleyball, which educates and spreads awareness to the campus community about breast cancer, occurs during the fall semester and is co-sponsored by Campus Recreation. All proceeds are donated to McDonough County Hospital and Susan G. Komen. Thompson Hall also co-sponsors another program with Campus Recreation, which is the Autism Walk. This program focuses on educating students about Autism as well as raises money for the Illinois Autism Society.
