What is Rocky Dollars?
All WIU ID Cards have been set up with a Rocky Dollars account. Rocky Dollars is a debit-like account that is accessed using your WIU ID Card. After you deposit money into your Rocky Dollars account, you can present your WIU ID Card as a form of payment to purchase goods and services on campus.
Where can I use Rocky Dollars?
How do I add Rocky Dollars to my WIU ID Card?
- You can purchase dollars via a credit or debit card by visiting www.wiu.edu/myid
- You can purchase dollars on S.T.A.R.S. by going to UHDS Points Purchase menu.
- You can purchase dollars via cash/check/credit card or debit card in Seal Hall at the University Housing and Dining Services office.
- You can purchase dollars via cash or check at the University Union Service Center.
Rocky Dollars are available for use approximately 15 minutes after purchase. Currently we do not provide a separate parent portal website for parents/families to add Rocky Dollars. We encourage you to work out a way for your parents to add money to your account when you are together. All account balances can be checked on STARS.
Why the new plan?
The University has been asked to comply with the Retail Sales Act. This requires us to only accept a pre-paid debit plan in certain campus locations. For this plan you can no longer charge to your University Account. You will have to submit one of the following tender types in order to add dollars to your card: cash, check, debit or credit card.
What's happening to the old flex plan?
The old flex plan is being phased out during the Fall 2010 semester. While students can continue to use flex points during the transition, students will not be able to add new points to their flex account after November 1. Starting January of 2011, the flex plan will be fully retired and replaced with Rocky Dollars.
