Policies

Room rental charges for use of space in the University Union will be incurred depending upon the nature of the event and identity of sponsoring groups.

  • Recognized student organizations are not charged for space for meetings or events that involve WIU students, faculty and staff, unless admission or participant fees are charged.
  • Recognized student organizations will be charged the WIU rate for space rental for events where admission or participant fees (including donations) are charged and/or event includes off-campus participants.
  • University departments/organizations are not charged for space for meetings or events involving only WIU students, faculty and staff unless admission or participant fees are charged.
  • University departments/organizations will be charged for events where admission or participant fees (including donations) are charged and/or event includes off-campus participants.
  • Off-campus individuals/organizations will be charged the Non-WIU rate for space rental for all events scheduled in the University Union.
  • Setup Fees will be charged to all off-campus customers and all student organizations/departments (if event includes off-campus participants) sponsoring a catered event in the Union. A $250.00 setup fee will be charged for all wedding receptions.
