Foundation Scholarships for Incoming Freshman

Western Illinois University Foundation offers scholarships to entering freshman. These scholarships are based on individual criteria set forth by the scholarship donor. Criteria for each highly competitive scholarship varies based on high school Grade Point Average, cumulative ACT score, community service/volunteer activities, and possibly class rank or financial need.

High school seniors need to complete the Scholarship Application for Entering Freshman Students to be considered for most Foundation freshman scholarships at Western Illinois University. After each deadline date, the applications are submitted to the WIU Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee for review. Award announcements are sent to students in the spring via postal mail.

Deadline dates:
ACT score of 32 or higher: December 18
All ACT scores (including those with ACT 32 or higher after December 18): February 15

Although the WIU Scholarship Office will share your application with your major department for their scholarships, we encourage you to contact the department of your declared major to inquire about department scholarships that may require additional application.
