Volunteer Services and Faculty
Volunteer Services wants to support the integration and use of service-learning and volunteerism in the classroom as much as possible. We believe that the community and the classroom have benefits to enhance the educational experience of the students of Western.
Volunteer Services is committed to helping those faculty and students who want to learn more about and/or incorporate service-learning into curriculums. This is done through many different ways:
- Service-Learning - Theory and Practice
- Contact info on faculty currently using service-learning
- Volunteer NOW: Macomb Area Volunteer Center - A searchable listing of volunteer opportunities in the greater Macomb community
- Service-Learning Committee - A grant funded committee of faculty, staff, and community partners looking at Service-Learning on the WIU campus
- Volunteer Services Resource Library - A library of volunteerism, service, service-learning, and civility articles, brochures and other resources for use by all
