SOS Leaders

Responsibilities

  • Attend orientation training workshops prior to Orientation
  • Welcome new students to campus
  • Assist with orientation activities
  • Lead small group orientation sessions with new students at the beginning of the fall semester
  • Help new students adjust to WIU life
  • Share experiences with new students and offer guidance and support
  • Show new students the campus layout
  • Assist in the new student orientation evaluation process
  • Follow up with student groups throughout the academic year

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be enrolled at WIU in the fall semester
  • Be in and maintain good academic and disciplinary standing
  • Possess general knowledge of WIU resources
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Complete and return the SOS leader application today; deadline for both NEW and RETURNER applicants is Friday, April 12, 2013
